Unfortunately, I have a home office set up, so when I got home, I was able to log into the network to continue my daily tasks
A few weeks ago, I walked into the office only to realize that the HVAC unit was broken down. I immediately knew something was wrong because the building was extremely cold. After asking the Admin about the HVAC system, she mentioned that she contacted our commercial HVAC provider and was waiting for a call back from them. At that point, I wanted to go back home because I know that I couldn’t work inside a freezing office. My only saving grace was that I kept a small space heater under my desk because there have been times where the office was too cold for me. But not many other employees in the office had a random space heater under their desk, so unfortunately, that morning they were stuck working inside the freezing office. By the afternoon, the HVAC provider still hadn’t made it to the office to fix the unit. Thankfully, my boss decided to close the office early and advised us to work from home if we could. Of course, not everyone had the ability to work from home, so they just had the rest of the day off. Unfortunately, I have a home office set up, so when I got home, I was able to log into the network to continue my daily tasks. The HVAC provider was able to fix the system that evening, and we were able to return to work the next day. And due to this situation, the Admin ordered a few space heaters to keep inside the office. Space heaters can’t provide the same comfort as an HVAC system, but they can provide some temporary relief inside a cold office space.
